Location: La Marina del Prat vermell (Barcelona).

 

Urban planning located in the old industrial land of La Marina del Prat Vermell. It is part of Sants-Montjuic district of Barcelona. The new neighborhood will have new equipment buildings all linked by the green area that organise the urban fabric and connects to Montjuic.

The public space is extended throughout the district. One of the utopic models chosen for the initial ideas was "The cluster city" by Alison and Peter Smithson. 

There are two typologies of residencial squares. The ones that are connected to the public buildings or commercial streets are opened with public space inside. Libraries, big stores and galleries, among others, are located on the groung floor as a socle for the housing buildings, they connect the street with the inside square creating secondary pedastrian flows. The towers are located inside as well so that the perception from the streets has a small scale.

Streets that are not linked to the public buildings have closed squares with privat terrases inside.

The east border of the neigbourhood is composed of big departments stores with their office towers.
